Ravenea musicalis

Ravenea musicalis: As you can see with these habitat photos this species grows in water, the seed “can” germinate on the palm and fall into the water where the root must hook into the bottom to begin to grow as some of these rivers are quite fast flowing, it can take quite a few years before the palm reaches the surface in some of these rivers. Because of this very short viability of this species it is proving to be very difficult to be collected then exported/freighted into Australia as all the seed have germinated and died in transit. This species is growing very well in Hawaii and would make a great landscaping palm around waterways, or in very wet spots.
